Welsh SPOCO Series
2010 will be the second running of the Welsh SPOCO series. The structure of the competition and the rules are simple.
- Qualifying events are named in advance. Each event remains ‘open’ to all entrants, but SPOCO series points are awarded to riders competing for WCA affiliated clubs or teams.
- Points are awarded on the basis of 120 for the first placed qualifying rider, 119 for the second placed qualifying rider and so on all the way to one point for the 120th qualifying rider (should this ever occur)
- The series competition will be based on the total points scored in each rider’s the best rounds on the following basis: best three rounds (in the case of 4 or 5 rounds in the series); best four rounds (if there are 6 or 7 rounds in the series); best five rounds (if there are 8 or 9 rounds in the series) and so on.
- In the event of a tie in the overall positions of the series, then the next best round will count, then the next (if necessary). If riders cannot be separated even after this then a tie is declared.
- Points are awarded on an overall placing basis, but there will also be competitions for best placed (overall) riders in each of the categories listed in the CTT handbook for the British Time Trial Championship. At present, this includes: senior men and women, espoir men and women, junior men and women, disability category, masters categories (based on year of birth for veterans).
- An award will be made to each rider completing the qualifying number of rounds (as per item 3, above). This will show overall placing and category position.
