2011 will be the third running of the series. This year, however, it will be a South Wales District series and some of the conditions have been slightly modified from previous years. The structure of the competition and the conditions are simple.

1. Qualifying events are named in advance. Each event remains ‘open’ to all entrants, but SPOCO series points are awarded only to riders competing for clubs or teams affiliated to the South Wales CTT District.

2. Points are awarded on the basis of 120 for the first placed qualifying rider, 119 for the second placed qualifying rider and so on all the way to one point for the 120th qualifying rider (should this ever occur).

3. The series competition will be based on the total points scored in each rider’s best rounds on the following basis: best three rounds (in the case of 4 or 5 rounds in the series); best four rounds (if there are 6 or 7 rounds in the series); best five rounds (if there are 8 or 9 rounds in the series) and so on. Should an event in the series be cancelled then the number of qualifying rounds will be adjusted accordingly.

4. In the event of a tie in the overall positions of the series, then the next best round will count, then the next (if necessary), and so on until all named rounds have been taken into account. If riders cannot be separated even after this then a tie is declared.

5. Points are awarded on an overall placing basis, but there will also be competitions for best placed (overall) riders in each of the following categories: senior men; women; junior men; junior women; disability category; veterans (in 10 year age bands based on year of birth), as outlined in condition no. 6.

6. Veterans’ competitions will be based on the following categories:

A: 40 - 49 (born in 1967 to 1962 inclusive)
B: 50 – 59 (born in 1961 to 1952 inclusive)
C: 60 – 69 (born in 1951 to 1942 inclusive)
D: 70 plus (born in 1941 or earlier)

It is the responsibility for anyone qualifying for a category other than senior men or women to notify the series organiser of their status (full details below).

7. An award (certificate) will be made to each rider completing the qualifying number of rounds (as per item 3, above). This will show overall placing and category position. For 2011, as this is now a CTT District competition, it is hoped that CTT medals will be awarded to the winners of the main categories.

8. Entries should be made in the normal way direct to the event secretary as listed in the CTT handbook. There is no direct or block entry scheme to the SPOCO Series.
