For all categories the UCI regs will be strictly enforced. Riders in the masters' categories will not be subject to the UCI technical regs, but a sensible and cautious approach is still recommended. ALL riders must wear a safety helmet approved to the required UCI standard.

However, having consulted with the appointed UCI Chief Commissaire, it does seem likely that the same pragmatic approach will be adopted this year as was in 2009.

This means that components that do not comply with the 3:1 aspect ratio can be adapted using padding and gaffer tape (or similar) and that this will probably be acceptable provided that it is minor adaptations. Note that this is probably acceptable and riders ought to adopt a cautious approach. In any case major adaptation of a machine in this manner is not acceptable. Please note that all machines will be checked before the start and some also afterwards.

Cervelo P4 machines should not have the aero bottle fitted. Similarly, the behind the seatpost aerobox that has recently been included on some Trek cycles should not be fitted. Both of these items have been deemed illegal by the UCI, so similar items should also be avoided.

Junior gear limits will be strictly enforced and all machines will be examined before the event and some will be examined a second time afterwards. Limiting the gears by screwing down the rear mech will be acceptable, but these machines will be rechecked after the finish.

Familiarise yourself with the UCI regs and do not leave it until the last minute to find that you need to make adjustments to saddle, aerobars etc.
